It’s a Major Award! :) February 11, 2010

Posted by techtigger in Uncategorized.
Wow, you like me, you really like me!  (or you think I’m a fantastic liar…I’m not sure which *heh*)
Laura Eno over at A Shift in Dimensions, and Mariana Blaser at Mariblasers Randomities awarded me with Lesa’s Bald Faced Liar “Creative Liar” Award. Thank you??…

The rules for the award are simple:
1. Thank the person who gave this to you.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you.
4. Tell up to six outrageous lies about yourself, and at least one outrageous truth – or – switch it around and tell six outrageous truths and one outrageous lie.
5. Nominate seven “Creative Writers” who might have fun coming up with outrageous lies.
6. Post links to the seven blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know you nominated them.

Ahh… but are these 6 lies and 1 truth, or the opposite?  Let the games begin!

1. I, like Garfield, enjoy kippered herring snacks
2. I was once seen rappelling from the top of an amusement park ride
3. My other half is called Captain Freakin’ America
4. I have raced with ducks
5. I once fished for ‘skivvies’ with pirates
6. I own the grade-school edition of the Necronomicon
7. I rode an inflatable alligator inside of a hotel elevator

Now to pick victims awardees. Hmm…let’s see. Who might be good liars?

@cafenirvana – you knew I was going to hit you with this, right? 🙂
@wisneski – you too! 😉
@oodja – makes 3!
bah, too tired from shoveling snow to do more.  Take the meme and run with it, tweeples! *lol*

1. Laura Eno - February 11, 2010

Those are some nice, outrageous statements – but I can’t decide if they’re truths or lies! Although, if #2 is true then I bow down to you. I could also see you doing #7… heh heh
I’m going to say that they are all truths except for #1. See my wild opinion of you?

2. Anne Tyler Lord - February 11, 2010

Those are really good!! I just love reading though everyone’s lies! I can see why we all chose fiction writing so we get to lie all the time.

I could see a few of these as true, I love to think of your other half as Captain Freakin’ America, who have them that name? if that is true

I think fishing for skivvies with pirates would be great fun & I love the visuals of their reactions everytime they get a “hot one”

But, I think I will go for the kippered herring snacks as true, too.

3. Mariana N. Blaser - February 12, 2010

Ohh, either pirates or the inflammable alligator… Can’t imagine you doing anything mundane anymore. Not after Nox and Grimm, ehh. ;D

4. Deanna Schrayer - February 12, 2010

It’s got to be the inflatable alligator – what a vivid image that is!
Congratulations on your award!

Time for some answers behind the lie (and the truth!)

1: I, like Garfield, enjoy kippered herring snacks – TRUE
Love sardines, kippered herring, sushi… I am just careful not to breath on anyone after I eat them 🙂

2. I was once seen rappelling from the top of an amusement park ride – TRUE
I have the dubious honor of taking the last ride on the monorail at the Philadelphia Zoo – it broke down, caught on fire, and the Fire Department couldn’t get a hook&ladder through to us. So they suited us up in rappelling gear and got us off it 🙂

3. My other half is called Captain Freakin’ America
4th of July block party with the neighbors. Houses wreathed in smoke from fireworks. Scott has on a WWII army helmet, a Captain America shirt, 3d glasses and a scotch in hand, while fireing a signalling cannon as the finale. Then the fire marshall arrived – the look on his face was priceless! Scott has been Captain Freakin’ America ever since 🙂

4. I have raced with ducks – TRUE
Vacationing on Vancouver Island, took a zodiac tour & raced across the water, flanked by ducks.

5. I once fished for ’skivvies’ with pirates – TRUE
Renaissance Festival – knew the pirate crew. They were tossing out cards attached to strings that said, “If you can read this, HAND US YOUR SKIVVIES!” The funny part was, when someone in a skirt or kilt said they weren’t wearing any, the pirates would yell, PROVE IT! 😀

6. I own the grade-school edition of the Necronomicon – TRUE
The Toy Vault made a stuffed Necronomicon, complete with a hand-puppet shoggoth and a squeaky toy to simulate the horns of Mad Azathoth.

7. I rode an inflatable alligator inside of a hotel elevator – FALSE
High school trip to Florida, a hurricane kept us off the beach. So my freind, determined to get some surfing in, bought an iflatable alligator pool raft and rode it up and down the hotel elevators. I just stood by and laughed 😉

6. Mariana N. Blaser - February 27, 2010

Haha! Fantastic that almost all your lies were actually truths! Wait, if you’re such a good liar, how can I trust you? eh? eh? lol ;D
